Assisted Living Facilities
The administrator shall attend at least 20 hours of training related to management or operation of a residential facility for adults or client specific training needs within each 12-month period. When adults with mental impairments reside in the facility, at least five of the required 20 hours of training shall focus on the resident who is mentally impaired. Documentation of attendance shall be retained at the facility and shall include title of course, location, date and number of hours. The manager shall attend at least eight hours of training related to management or operation of a residential facility for adults or client specific training needs within each 12-month period. When adults with mental impairments reside in the facility, at least two of the required eight hours of training shall focus on residents who are mentally impaired. Documentation of attendance shall be retained at the facility and shall include title of course, sponsor, date and number of hours.
Nursing Home Facilities
In order to renew a nursing home administrator license, an applicant shall attest on his renewal application to completion of 20 hours of approved continuing education for each renewal year. Up to five of the 20 hours may be obtained through Internet or self-study courses and up to 10 continuing education hours in excess of the number required may be transferred or credited to the next renewal year. In order for continuing education to be approved by the board, it shall be related to health care administration and shall be approved by the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Long Term Care Administrators or by an accredited institution. |
