Course Approvals

ALL Community Education courses are nationally approved and have successfully satisfied the NAB requirements for
continuing education.

All long term care administrators, such as assisted living managers and nursing home administrators can receive NAB approved continuing education. There are two states that do not automatically accept NAB approval: Kansas and Missouri.

All educational offerings have been reviewed by the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.

Continuing Education
Requirements for South Dakota

Assisted Living Administrators
None indicated

Nursing Home Administrators
A minimum of 40 clock hours of continuing education is required biennially for renewal of license. All continuing education courses must have prior approval by the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators, the South Dakota State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators, or another state licensing board for nursing facility administrators.
