Course Approvals

ALL Community Education courses are nationally approved and have successfully satisfied the NAB requirements for
continuing education.

All long term care administrators, such as assisted living managers and nursing home administrators can receive NAB approved continuing education. There are two states that do not automatically accept NAB approval: Kansas and Missouri.

All educational offerings have been reviewed by the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.

Continuing Education
Requirements for North Carolina

Assisted Living Administrators
The administrator must verify that he earns 15 hours a year of continuing education credits related to the management of domiciliary homes and care of aged and disabled persons in accordance with procedures established by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Assisted Living Supervisor
The supervisor-in-charge must verify that he earns 12 hours a year of continuing education credits related to the management of domiciliary homes and care of aged and disabled persons in accordance with procedures established by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Nursing Home Administrators
Every holder of a nursing home administrator's license shall renew it biennially by application to the Board. The Board shall not require any licensee to successfully complete more that 30 hours of continuing education courses every two years.
