Course Approvals

ALL Community Education courses are nationally approved and have successfully satisfied the NAB requirements for
continuing education.

All long term care administrators, such as assisted living managers and nursing home administrators can receive NAB approved continuing education. There are two states that do not automatically accept NAB approval: Kansas and Missouri.

All educational offerings have been reviewed by the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.

Continuing Education
Requirements for Montana

Assisted Living Facilities
The administrator must show evidence of at least 16 contact hours of annual continuing education relevant to the individual’s duties and responsibilities as administrator of the assisted living facility. An assisted living category C administrator must at least have eight of the 16 hours of annual continuing education pertain to carting for persons with sever cognitive impairments.

Nursing Home Facilities
Twenty-five hours of continuing education will be required annually for renewal of a license or renewal of inactive registration. The board may preapprove providers/sponsors of continuing education. Courses obtained from a preapproved provider/sponsor do not need to be submitted for approval. Courses sponsored by preapproved providers/ sponsors that are germane to long-term care will be automatically accepted by the board.
